abs light went on and a noise after i turned off the car

yesterday when i was driving home, the abs light came on....i stopped the car, turned it off/on to see if it would go away but no...didnt...i finished driving home and turned off the car only to get out and hear a buzzing noise from under the hood. the noise is comming from the right front area where the abs system is located and thankfully clearly marked. when i touched the area, it was vibrating like no tommorrow...

i have no clue about the inner workings of a car other then checking oil and fluids so i didnt know what to do....since the car was turned off and that sound kept goin i decided that i should disconnect my battery cause i just didnt know what to do to stop the buzzing noise. so right now, my battery is disconnected and thankfully that stopped the noise.

any input on what may be the problem and what is gonna be needed to fix it will be massively helpful to me, thanks for reading anyways...

note: my car is a 94 svx lsi awd.

Significant Technical Input Registered SVX Classic SVX
A minor problem...

Your ABS motor relay is sticking. You can usually rap the cover of the ABS box with your knuckle or the handle of a screwdriver and it will stop buzzing.

Usually it does not come back, but if you want to replace the relay, it is very easy to do:

Take the screw out of the center of the ABS control box cover.
Take out the front-most relay and replace it with a new one and replace the cover.

The new part number for the relay is 26735AA012. The new relay can be identified by a white line under the word JAPAN on the relay case. It runs about $40.00 from subaruparts.com. Maybe a few members here have them when parting their cars.

The Technical Service Bulletin covering this problem can be found by clicking HERE

Here is the diagram of the relay location. Part #3 in the picture:

thank you very much! i did what you said by hitting the abs box and it didnt make the buzzing noise....drove around the block hoping the abs light wouldnt go on...and it didnt...so at least i know it isnt gonna be constant. you said the part is only $50 well, i think i may be interested in getting one....(if the relay decides to act up in the near future)

again, thank you very much cause you saved me some time and money!
