boxer 12 cyl - 600hp

I came across this info - Subaru made moves to get into Formula 1 in the early 90's - but died a natrual death unfortunatly, [Honda V8 was doing 690hp at the time]

Would be unreal to hear the sound this engine would make.

Hee hee! The oldest information that I could find posted was <1999>. The engine was a total flop in 1990, and Subaru was little more than a sponsor.

Wow, pretty lame. You think 12cyl might have been a bit overkill? Maybe it would have worked better with only 8 or 10? I suppose turbos were a no no in F1 at the time or what?

(SUBARU! Not exactly known for high horsepower NA motors)

Subaru didn't design the motor, merely claimed it as their own.

No doubt if they did they would slap two eg33s together and bump up the compression and rev range. Should make 800hp easy.

Um, I dunno what the size limitation is though so it might not be a 6.6 liter, in which case it wouldn't be two eg33s slapped together...
