Wiring Harness

I recently bought a used harness from one of the guys on here, and was wondering if anyone had a list of what the colors are supposed to corrospond with.

I have white, gree, purple, grey, orange all as a pair (one wihout and one with a stripe) then i have a black, red, and blue.

just match up the colors with the stereo, but in general:

black is ground
blue is antenna/amp
orange is illumination
red is ACC
yellow is battery

white, gray, greens, and purples are for speakers, make sure you have the polarity right though.

Alright, and if I have a sub, does that have to be turned on only when the auto-antenna is powered on?

Are you going to be powering the sub by a amp?

You'll want the sub to turn on whenever the head unit is on, not just when the antenna is up. On most HUs, the antenna remote control turns off (lowers the antenna) when you switch to CD or Aux.

If your HU has an amplifier remote control wire then use that. If not, you'll have to control your sub from the +12V accessory line (so it will be "on" whenever the ignition key is on, regardless of whether your radio is on). If you think you'll drive around a lot with the radio off, you can add a switch to this wire to disable the sub.
