New Radiator...car stalls repeatedly

I've picked up my car Wednesday from my mechanic with its new radiator (couldn't hold out for the all alum) and then didn't drive it until Sunday, and then I hardly made it 6 blocks. The car stalled at least 10 times before I was able to get it home. It would start but shut off after a couple of seconds. Starting again after I had the hood up for a couple of minutes. I don't know if the car has sensors which shut everything down if things aren't working, but that is how it seemed to me. I realize I am in a non-svx area-Florida (dealer included) and that my knowledge of anything having to do with cars is very limited....but it seems to me I should be able to drive more then 10 miles after getting the car repaired for $625. Anyone know what I need to be asking about at this point?

What year is your car?

Is the Check Engine Light on? Check for codes and let us know what flashes up.

She's a lovely 92 claret

And unfortunately.....I'm operating with a "car repair for dummies" as my guidebook. I read the website all the time, but I have no idea how to check codes. Nor would I know what they meant...I am a svx-lover who knows nothing about cars. Except that mechanics in Miami do not know my car/baby.
Oh-and when it stalls all the lights come on and she just rolls to a stop. (The check engine light has always flashed periodically---since my parents bought her in 1993. They have always been told it was a sensor issue.)

Earthworm replied earlier in this thread. In his signature is a link to the "SVX-ipedia", follow the links and there is a section on reading TCU codes.

Once you read the codes, you may want to start a new thread and tell us what codes you are getting.

Unfortunately, reading the TCU codes won't tell you anything about why it's stalling

Now checking the ECU (engine) codes will be a bit more useful.

Instructions here:

->SVXipedia
-->Checking Error Codes
--->How to Check Engine (ECU) Trouble Codes

Let us know what you find.
