Spark Plug, Transmission belt issues

Hi, I am new to this forum, came across it today and registered immediately. I am an owner of 95 SVX L AWD with 86K, owns it from last two years and , never had any issues. I am having some minor issues that I want to clarify

1) Early Morning's (when its little cold) when I go to work(just a mile from my home), engine starts fine and when I reach my work and stop (to open the gates with my access card), car vibrates ( I can feel it from the way steering shakes in my hand), but engine keeps running except for twice when it died but didnt had any problem to restart (thats in last winter). I had it checked in the nearst Subaru service station and they say its some spark plug issues and would cost me some 250-300$. I avoided getting it done as its not stopping me from using the car. I dont see that problem if I drive for long or when weather is hot.
Did any had the same problem, do I have to get my spark plugs changed?

2) When I do a reverse, sometimes I feel like car is skidding or something, I am not sure if its the slipping transmission or something. Can any one explain.

3) I have 86k on my car, when is the best time to get transmission belt replaced. How much will it cost me if i do it at a subaru dealer oir is there any other cheaper way.

Again I am knew to this forum and also new to all car Mehanics.

Can someone hear advice me.

Thanks
VA

Problems

Welcome to the forum. I believe the change cycle for plugs in our cars is every 60k. So if this was not done, it may remedy your idle problems. I use irridium plugs and love them. It would also be a good idea to change your air and fuel filter. These are things that should be done regularly. If you are still having the same problem take it to a mechanic. If you have never done mechanic work before, I would not recommend messing with anything. It would also be a good idea, if this has not been done yet, to get a complete transmission service and flush. Also you should replace the transmission filter. I would use only synthetic ATF in the Tranny. Transmissions in these cars are sensitive and need TLC. I got 130k out of mine. Just take care of it. Have you checked the tranny fluid lately? After you get to work, with the car running and warm, or better yet, if you have a 30 minute trip, check the ATF level. Low ATF can cause problems with reverse.

Good Luck
