I kind of like the idea of the US and Canada merging. I think it would be a great financial benefit for both countries. We could call it the United Provinces and States of North America or UPSNA. We could be the world's largest oil producing nation. Run those sheiks right into the poor house and actually have a trade benefit instead of a deficit.
Naaahh.... people all over the world would start hating Canadians..... and US travellers would no longer be able to stick Canadian flags and pins all over themselves in order to stay safe when overseas

Besides.... I can't think of any real positive benefit for Canada at the moment. We haven't had a trade deficit in a while, we'd like to keep our oil for ourselves, thanks ('cause we're greedy folk ), would like to keep our water, too.... and we'd end up losing our most beloved national sport - American baiting!

Sorry, let me rephrase that. Montreal has the best strippers.

They are to french. Nothing manly there. I'll take Toronto over Montreal in a heartbeat.
On a side note, while in Northern Vermont (St. Albans) I was listening to 80's music in English. When the deejay came on, it was all in french. Wierd.
