I am willing to bet that they are bogus addresses. That is why they select Western Union. They can show up at any Western Union office get the money.

You don't have to show up at the NY westen union to collect the money. As long as they know the address and who they are sending the money to, you can collect the money at ANY and ALL westen union locations. You don't even need the money control number (like many people assume).

Like Doug said, contact the post master general and the FBI. If the prints shows up on one of many databases, FBI will do the rest. Uh on the second thought, it's not the FBI you want to contact, you want secrect service. The treasury agents... I don't think FBI is under DOJ not Treasury. It's the treasury agents that trace the fake money and checks.

Actually I missed the Western Union x-fer, so seriously, there probably isn't a whole lot that can be done, other then inform the FBI (who does work with the Treasurey Dept on fraud cases) as well as the Postal Police, I'd still contact the NYPD as well as they do have a fraud unit, and the address's given were in their jusisdiction (they also work with other federal depts on cases, so it couldn't hurt) but in all honesty, more then likely, nothing will be done about it and these guys will "live to scam another day"
