05 STi hubs on a SVX

Has anyone tried this yet? Im seriously thinking about it. It would mean much more options brake and suspension wise. Im pulling a svx hub off this weekend and ordering a STi on Tues to see how diff they are and if it would work.

I'd be astounded if the '05 STi hubs were a direct fit onto an SVX, but I'd be ecstatic if the STi hubs do fit.

I heard that they were exactly the same from one person, but I stuck my head under an 05 and the ball joint on the STI still bolts through the control arm like every other Subaru (sans SVX) so it is definitly not an SVX spindal. It maybe an SVX bearing and hub though, and the brakes and struts still might work.

Isn't the sway bar gonna be an issue. I thought it mounted differently on the Impreza based gentry?

So the STi Ball joint wouldn't fit onto the SVX contol arm...

Would the SVX Ball Joint fit into the STi Spindal???

Yeah, there would be a problem with the sway bar mounting if you were to use the STI struts. (no sway bar mount on the strut body)

No, the SVX ball joint mounts to the control arm and the tapered stud bolts in to the spindal, the STI ball joint mounts to the spindal and the tapered studs bolts to the control are. compleatly differend design.

What about filing down the area that the strut fits over the knuckle so a WRX or legacy strut would fit?

Well if the bolt spread is the same then yes, you could probly mill down the splindal to work with a WRX strut.
