firefox???
How do you get firefox to automaticly open a jpg link without asking where and what to do with it?
oh it's version 1.0 on OSX

Same thing happens to me on this site. Haven't figured out how to get away from the dialog box.

Thats one of the reasons I stopped using firefox, it also would open dialog boxes for other stuff that you couldn't get to stop as well. Once all the bugs are worked out however, it will be a great browser.
Oh yeah, the same thing (jpeg issue) happens with netscape as well.

It sure is an annoyance. Even when you check the box that says to do this for all files of this type, it still asks you what you want to open a picture with. On the otherhand, some sites I click on a picture link and it opens in the browser like one would expect it to with no problems. I think it is based on the way the image links are coded. It's the only way I can explain why it works fine with some sites but not with others, like this one.

Firefox claims to correctly implement the protocol. IE (and maybe others) does not - many software writers have taken advantage of this software "enhancement" and are improperly implementing code - or so the claim goes.
Unless you can convince the Mozilla people to "enhance" their code too, Firefox will not be "fixed" any time soon to directly open the pics

I agree - and this is probably the only thing I do not like about mozilla/firefox.
But I put up with it because I'm not going back to IE. I have searched the forums at mozilla for a fix to no avail.
