Gbox and diff woes...

Right, so had the box reconditioned. Came back with a thumping from the front. Turned out to be a solenoid. Cured the problem. Drove very nicely for 10 miles, then on tight lock at low speeds, there it was again - this time the rear diff! I assume a similar problem.Back to the rebuilder - again!!

Hi Tony, tell me more about it, I don't see the connection between the diff thumping and the transmission. What solenoid was replaced to fix what? Its not just a binding Limited Diff clutch, is it?

Harvey.

I'm afraid that I have no idea - the gbox rebuilder is elsewere in the country, I am getting this second and from my garage.

The first problem was a banging from the front diff - the wheel was jumping as it occurred, only on lock at slow speed. I had a fault code showing duty solenoid c. The car was taken back, they put in a new upgraded solenoid and the noise disappeared - but I have exactly the same noise from the rear diff. These noises were not there before the box was reconditioned. So, back it goes again!!
