Question Wobble - Help!

Help...Response Needed.

Just got my '92 LS-L back from the mechanic. Changed rear wheel bearings, one front CV joint and all four rotors and pads. Still have a low speed wobble that comes from the rear of the car. It disappears after about 25-30 mph. Can both hear and feel the wobble in the car and it's cycle is in tandem with wheel revolutions. Car rides smooth at highway speeds, then when I slow down to below 25 mph, wobble sound begins again. Can also hear it clearly in slow left hand turns.

Mechanic believes that the rear end may be bad. What does that
actually mean?

He is going to put it up on the rack today to check a few things out.

Some other possibilities we discussed were:
1. Rear CV joints.
2. Rear axle - but then wouldn't I still feel it at hwy. speeds?
3. Bent or warped drivetrain - again hwy. speed issue.

Before I end up replacing everything in my car trying to fix it, any
thoughts or similar experiences shared would be greatly appreciated. I just spent over a thousand dollars on the other stuff.

Dan, First thing I have to ask is was this wobble present before you had the parts replaced on the car? If not it would obviously point to the work done, and your mechanic should be anxious to find it. If it was, the first thing I'd do is swap the wheels front to back to eliminate the tire/rim as a possible culprit. Also check the wheel carefully for any buildup inside the rim (tar, gunk, etc) that could cause an imbalance. Is it possible the rim is bent? Other than that I'd continue to pursue the areas already mentioned, and best of luck. It's very frustrating when your car starts to be like a sailboat, better known as a hole in the water you keep throwing $$$ into.

Problem was there prior to work being done. I posted something similar a few weeks ago which led me to having the wheel bearings changed, considering the SVX is notorious for eating up wheel bearings.

Good idea on switching the wheels to see if it changes anything. If the rim is bent, I should be able to notice the change in the wobble location.

Yup I think the same thing, bent rim or a bad tire that isn't round.
