405hp from a 16V V8 is pretty impressive yes. But the engine is still capable of even more power with very minor tweaks. Import fans always brag about mutivalve engines getting so much power per liter...yet these engines are so complex and expensive to fix that many mechanics refuse to even touch them. In the meantime, GM is building 400+ hp 16V pushrod V8s that are far more reliable (the LS-1 design has won more awards than honda's entire line) and cheaper to maintain than those multi-valve, multi-cam tech shows. On top of that, they are now doing this in not only their V8's, but their V6's too.
