body work

My driver side rear fender was damaged over a year ago (damage is in the rear under the tailight--someone backed into me) and I have found a new one. I was wondering if anyone knew if replacing the fender was doable or this is strictly a job for a body shop. Any info would be appreciated.

Like pretty much every unibody car, the quarter panels on an SVX are a structural part of the car. They're not bolted on like the fenders, they're spot-welded all the way around.

So, yeah, you're going to have to have a shop do it. But let's take a step back - what makes you so sure that you're going to have to replace the panel? Most likely the original panel can be bent back into shape, filled and painted to look like new.

Either way, you're looking at body shop work.
