Why do SVXs throw so much water???
I had to drive up to Portage WI today from Madison, about 45 minutes away during the storms we've been having. My fiance was driving her familys civic. We had walkie-talkies (I was bored) to communicate, and she kept *****ing about how whenever I pulled in front of her she couldn't see. Then she started saying how much MORE water I was throwing off than other cars on the road. I looked in my rear view mirror, and it appears she was right. It seemed like I was kicking up like twice the water as anyone else on the road. Anyone know why???

The tires are probably wider than most other cars and if you have good tread, that may do it as well. I noticed the same thing. It also sprays sideways when there is standing water on the road. It looked like a boat throwing water to the side once.

The frog has a rooster's tail. I like to think of Kermit as my unlimited hydroplane (but without the actual hydroplaning stuff).

I think it has to do with the aerodynamic properties of the car. Ever drive through a dusty road? You'll have a huge cloud behind you - much more than other cars - it seems to have a twin vortex of swirling air corkscrewing out from behind. Pretty cool effect.
