hmm true... but it seems like learning in a controlled environment is cool too... in fact, i'm looking at the 2 day program where you learn to trail brake and heel toe and stuff....

PDA? not sure what that is. So I would say no. I am on NASIOC & RS25 websites for my rs. I am still shopping for the svx that yells out "buy me now!".

haha, can't argue with you there. I'm just waiting for the right moment where it is economically possible for me to own 2 cars. I rode in porters SVX at the dragon in north carolina and fell in love with them. The problem is, if i buy one...I am gonna wanna take all the parts from my rs supercharger kit and throw them on the svx. Can't let that happen till school is payed off

None the less, I noticed you live actually in the same area as myself. Have you ever gone to a local impreza.net/Midwest impreza club meet? Its about 40-60 people in the summer and you would be surprised. Not everyone is into living life a quartermile at a time...

SCCA Midwest Counsel

I used to race SCCA with the Midwest counsel. I would recommend joining SCCA. They'll have all the info you need to get you doing the racing you want to do. You'll und up at a driver’s school at Blackhawk farms. It'll be great! DO IT!!!!

There will be classroom work, but not a lot, then you'll take a ride around the track in a van to SEE the real lines. Then you'll have a ride-a-long instructor, (mine rode with me for 1 lap) after that, session after session where you can try out your book learning.

You'll lift, you'll spin, you'll go farm the infield...You'll hit a few corners just right and know it... They'll do mock flag drills to make sure you know what you are doing out there. At the end, we had a nice race. Getting blown down by a 429 corvette on the straights is fun, then passing him while he tries to slow down, waiting 'till you are PAST the last brake marker to BEGIN slowing down, rocket through the corner, then get blown down by the corvette on the next straight. WOW, real fun!

When I was 18, I spun so far off turn 1 that I ended up in WISCONSON! (Blackhawk is in South Beloit, IL)

Road America is fun too, but much bigger. Driving topped out down a straight-away is fun for only a few laps. After that, you use the time to think about the next set of CORNERS (where the fun is).

Smaller track = more corners = more practice = more learning.
