James, Hello, I be Eddycat. I'm curious, if you hadn't had a chance to read any of the posts yet, how were you aware of the AWS debate? I'd also be curious to know what bushings were changed in the 93-97 SVX that would make the car non-passive AWS? (Everyone here knows my stand on "passive" AWS, so bear with me). Is that right? Bear with me?

Finally James, can you tell me how you earned an SVX master tech designation? I'm kind of curious as I do know a wee bit about Subaru tech training and certifications.

At any rate James, it's always nice to have a new member on board. Welcome!

Now, now, Aredub, those were legitimate questions. Go back to the start of the thread and take a gander...SVX master tech said that he hadn't had a chance to read any posts yet, but then he explained the (non-existant) "passive" AWS was only on 1992 SVX's. How could he have known we had been having a little to do about that if he hadn't read any posts? And there is no such thing as an SVX master tech, at least not in my experience, and I worked on Subaru's until 1999, two years after they were out of production. That would be like me saying I was an outback master tech...no such thing. To get *Subaru Senior Master Tech* status you have to pass all the Subaru core courses and have all eight ASE certifications. There is also the 941, (or 951, my mind's going away) course, that is the advanced class to get you up to snuff.

Now, you and I have had our differences, but I don't think asking questions of someone that says he is a SVX master tech, and owns 3 SVX's is being rude. My senior master plaque and the pictures of my 1 SVX are on file at the yahoo site. And I did ask nicely didn't I?

Guys, this is what he states in his profile: Occupation Subaru Master Tech -- He did not state SVX master tech. It is nice to have more then one Subaru MasterTechs out there. I welcome everyone.

James, I am interested in your mods part of your profile though : Mods '97 is bone stock, near mint. The low mile '92 has too many mods to mention, including a super charged blower, currently 680 bhp. (not street legal)

What did you do to have over 680 ponies under the hood -- apart from supercharging it... what is the 1/4 mile on that beast?

HAHAHAHA!! Now I get it. Master Tech is really Aredub trying to sneak back in on the 4WS debacle, without admitting he'll "never" bring up the subject again. Or... then again, maybe it's Peppe, who scaled down the 980HP claim to more "believable" stats. This place is a riot. And we wonder why we play around on this site instead of doing "work" Indeed!! I do think this is James from OK. I don't think Randy (AreDubJay) would do anything like this to bring back the 4WS issue. It could be Peppe... but unlikely... Let's wait and see but this could get interesting.
