If the antenna worked I'd be able to answer that, but it doesn't, so I had to pick between permanently up and permanently down.

Being what I think is a normal guy, I picked permanently up - and although it does have it's disadvantages....

Someday with sufficient cash flow I will fix it, but it's pretty low on the priority list. Just sent 1stSubaru $160 for a TPS and front sway bar bushings. Xmas season is a heck of a time to be spending $$ on maintenance items. Tried cleaning the TPS with contact cleaner but couldn't bring it back.

Yeah, I get the picture, Lee. There may be a problem with not "gettin' it down", for the car wash, though. I wonder if there's a way to bolt one of those Mopar bendable whips in its place?

Ron, thanks for the thoughts.

Mopar whip antenna...I'd probably go that route but so far I haven't figured out how to handle the long length of the shaft that goes from the fiberglass on top down thru to the metal in the trunk.

As for the carwash, I only hand wash my cars anyway, so...
