Unhappy How fast Am I going...?

Speedometer is broke! Along with my odometer and tripomoter. (not spinning) I was told it could be two different things.... either a little adapter gear on the outside of my transmission, with an hour's worth of labor, or... a little gear on the inside with 10 hours worth of labor.

Anyone had this problem before?

The 10 hour job is becuz they have to drop the tranny and open it up.

Is it worth fixing?

If someone has had this problem or is currently guessing their driving speed, please let me know, what you know. Thank-you.

I could be wrong but...

I thought the speedo and the tach were electronic...Is there a possiblity that a fuse could have blown?

They are electronic, but the sending unit is driven mecanically, I'd check the Sender first, it could just be unplugged.
It is located near the front diff dipstick, right behind the motor on the pass(right) side, it sticks straight up with 2(if memory serves me) wires going to it.
As for it being a fuse, maybe, but I doubt it is the only thing that would stop working if the fuse blew.
