Although that passage probably is clogged, we're not too worried about the EGR actually working, only getting rid of the code.

No, I'm suggesting to feed the seafoam through the line that goes from # 11 to #13 in the diagram I posted, if you can actually get to it in the car. The orange arrow I'm not altogether sure what that would hit, the route is a bit more complicated.
Oh yes I did get that wrong. It is the otherway around. 34 solenoid, 56 temp on the gas passage.

Re: Narrow down all these opinions for me...

Alright, found the hose you were talking about (this picture was taken today). It is relatively easy to get to, and as long as it doesn't give me any troubles coming off, it should work like a charm. I'm going to try to do it with the car warm first. Will unplugging this line cause the car to die? Also, is this just another 1/8" line like the other ones, if you know?

If this does indeed remove my check engine light and code, I will post a new thread for everyone to read that has the same issue, as I've seen quite a few posts about this same thing. Thanks for all the help!

Re: Narrow down all these opinions for me...

Yep that's the right hose, and I don't think enough air will flow through it to kill it if it was open. It is a 1/8' ID hose. Funny thing - I got a code 34 last night too. So I guess I'll be trying this myself soon.

Well I'll let you know how it goes! Be ready for an annoying light every time your car is warm

Re: Narrow down all these opinions for me...

When you do it, you will have to open the thottle a bit to get vacuum on that line, as it is still controlled by the port in the throttle body.

BUMP. Guys. It didn't work. I revved it all the way to 4500rpm's just to make sure the throttle was open, but nothing. :[ Didn't suck at all. My car [doesn't] sucks.

Re: Narrow down all these opinions for me...

Hmm. Probably the solenoid wasn't open. There might be a way to trick it into opening by grounding the EGR pin at the ECU. (The solenoid has +12V switched power to it, and is switched on/off by being grounded at the ECU, a bit counter-intuitive). Want to try?

No you missed the point "open the thottle a bit", not a lot.
These two ports EGR, and PURGE, in the throttle body only have vacuum to. work, when the butterfly is over the port, any more and they are on the atmospheric side of the butterfly plate, and no vacuum.
This is so both of these emission units only work at cruise.

Yes the solenoid would be closed as it opens when the engine is at normal temp.

Harvey.

Re: Narrow down all these opinions for me...

So do I just let it idle? Won't it only open at cruising speed? This is getting way too complicated. I think I'll just use the bigger hose over the middle of the throttle body. Is there an easy way to just take the EGR out and clean the bastard with my hands? This is way too much trouble for it :[
