Re: Svx Models, How Many Produced?

I was looking at the brazilian SVX for sale or in junkyards (sucata in brazil) and i found that the few i found, looks the same as the SVX from USA.
I mean for the reverse lights, no signals in fender next to the doors, and automatic belts.

For sale:

http://www.ooyyo.pt/autos-usados/subaru-svx/brasil/

Sucata:

http://produto.mercadolivre.com.br/M...u-svx-9595-_JM

This is the only exception:

http://www.webmotors.com.br/webmotor...045/detalhe.wm

Note: All cars in Brazil are LHD

note the instructions at the top of the fuse cover are in both English and in French

It would be interesting to know what the 92 were marked with. I expect with a "A" as I have not seen a Canadian 92 with Seat Heaters, but with the requirement for French as well, maybe "A1" or "AA"

Peter
Peter,
Any chance of getting pictures of these covers?

CANADA-SPEC QUESTION:
The early cars had seat heaters 'relay 6',

So, only the later cars had requirements for running lights, therefore, these SVX did NOT have seat heaters, IS THIS CORRECT?

I will ask the seller in the junkyard for the leter in the fusebox.
Maybe there is a pattern here related with the weather and regulations in the countries and to the electric configuration of the car.
For example, Paraguay and Brazil have almost the same weather, and the same regulations, so is possible that the fusebox letters are the same. Same logic for various of the letter-related countries in that list, but once again, thats a guess.
Also, Paraguay-Brazil-Australia and New Zealand have the same weather.

It's all about the language, and the way the cars are wired, VTD or 4-ACT, tilt headlamps, running lamps, etc., If we know how it is wired, we have a general idea of how an SVX is equipped.

I need to add Peter's 'F' and 'G' codes, will get that later tonight

EDIT: While the database Dan linked shows the interior as 220, Dan has just sent a pic of the trim tag, marked as 420. That number fits the pattern, black interior, 94 production.

NZ:

OKAY, check it out, we have enough information to begin to decode the APPLIED MODEL,

All SVX registration lists should be categorized by APPLIED MODEL YEAR:
A, B, C, D, E, F.

CX@ A, 1992
CX@ B, 1993
CX@ C, 1994
CX@ D, 1995
CX@ E, 1996
CX@ F, 1997

Further, the following conclusions seem evident:

CXD- AWD-4WS
CXW- AWD
CXV- FWD

The fifth character seems to indicate a world market, but I don’t have enough Model numbers to determine if Canada and US are the same.
This is what seems correct at this point:

CXWA Y 7E,, Y= US [North America?]
CXWA K 7E,, K= United Kingdom [?]
CXWA L 7E,, L= EURO [France, Swiss so far]
CXWA U 7E,, U= Australia
CXWA 2 3E,, 2= Japanese Domestic Market
CXWA 2 5E,,
CXWT E 0R,, E= Gulf region [GCC]

All codes seem to end in E, except Dan’s GCC 'R' code, perhaps this is a code for non-catalyst

All codes have consistant A-F Manufacture, except Dan's GCC 'T' code.

What seems to be left, is to figure out the 6th and 7th characters
Okay, Silver has had a chance to go home for the holidays, and take a picture of his trim tag. His model is CXWCT7E. C is 94, 7 is full spec.

I thought E was 'emission equipped', but not sure now, as Dan had reported his car did not have oem O2 sensors. Dan's car is market 'T', which is a new market to the list. Also confusing, the previous Applied model codes for Mid East. Perhaps those numbers were VIN code letters, not Applied Model?

Re: Svx Models, How Many Produced?

It appears that E, the last of 7 digits in the Applied Model, refers to Electronic 4EAT transmission, therefore all SVX Applied model codes would end in 'E'. This is consistant with the info in the link posted by B3lha early in this thread.

Therefore, it would seem that something in Dan's engine code would specify non-emission status. It would be helpful to have the information on the strut tower for various market cars, in order to make better conclusions about engine codes, transmission codes, applied models, etc.

Dan's engine code is: EG33DRX2DB. If we had more information, we may be able to determine what specs are coded in the Engine Code.

Joe, Earl, if you have more info I could review for conclusions, please email it to me .

Re: Svx Models, How Many Produced?

Whereas Australian delivered svx had a thin strip plate on the passenger door pillar showing build date, Japanese domestic market cars did not have this build date information readily at hand on their vehicles. Is this strip plate elsewhere on the jdm cars ?
My jdm car has model designator CXDA25E and trim code 220
Thanks for any info
