installed polished intake manifold and phenolic spacers today (pictures inside)

Well, I finally got around to ordering a set of Outlaw phenos for the SVX. I have a set on both of my other cars ('94 probe, '89 mx-6) and I absolutely love them, so I figured I may as well go for the trifecta!

So, I worked this morning and this afternoon I went to town on this thing. You've possibly seen my progress in polishing my intake manifold, so I'll forego any explanation there, and just give you all some pictures. Also, please forgive my qualuity of pictures. All I had on my was my cell phone, and I wanted to get some, so this is what I got.

Here's how it looked when I started.

Not BAD, but we can do better. Mwa ha haaa!!

Here's the IM torn off. Yippee!

Stuff kinda going back together here. Also, I was impressed with myself. I had the foresight to tape up the IM before putting it on. Worked very nice, and kept it clean. Just went over it again quick with the mini buffer when I was done, and it looked pretty good. You'll have to pardon the rest of my dingey enginebay though.

Getting closer...

And done! (but not cleaned yet)

Then I washed the car and took a few other pictures too. Hope you enjoy them as well.

So, that's what I did this afternoon. Wasn't really too hard, just time consuming, but worth it. Now you pop the hood and it's like there's a jewel inside. Also now I have another IM to polish, lol. ...IF someone is interested.

Thanks for stopping by, amigos.

very nice work! the grey on the plastic cover looks kinda weird next to that nice shiny intake, though - maybe paint it black?

when rest of engine is clean ....

Re: installed polished intake manifold and phenolic spacers today (pictures inside)

Ive got a question.
Are the 4 lines on both sides of the manifold ( Before the manifold got polished and had them ground off ) are there for cooling of some sort? or Just for looks? or for another reason?
Thanks

Re: installed polished intake manifold and phenolic spacers today (pictures inside)

Subieantz, I think the lines are just there for aesthetics. I put phenolic spacers in anyway, so cooling (if it were for that) is taken care of anyway.
I'm also thinking of painting the silver on the H-6 cover the same as the silver on the intake. I think that would look sweet too.

Also, I put some Mothers' "back to black" on the plastic and it looks MUCH better now, and cleaned up the rest of the engine and it looks good.

Johnnybeas, sure you can have a CD, lol. And I'm doing my spare to have around, and hopefully I can just keep rotating between cores and finished ones. Whenever you want one, just let me know and I'm sure we can work it out.

And thanks for the compliments everyone else! It's nice when hard work pays off, and things turn out like you hoped!
