Passed PA Inspection

Sometimes the SVX surprises me, the car passed inspection and emissions without needing anything, and that just made just my day.

If you want, I can give you the names of some good inspection stations around here. They all charge 60 bucks, but I know the guys and they do good work.

I used Hess' Garage it was $72 with a tire rotation and tax. I have always been happy with them. Occassionally they take a little longer than I like but they are very honest and do good work at very fair prices. Benebob also recommended Zimmermans Garage but I haven't been there yet.

I always pass with flying colors! We have no emission testing here in Monroe county.

Georgia has no inspections of any kind, outside of metro Atlanta, which does emissions testing. Years ago there was a statewide safety inspection (tire condition, brakes, lights, alignment and such), but I guess they figured we were safe enough.

It really depends on where you take it.

I took mine to EJ tire in Childs PA. I think they just stared at it for 5
minutes and licked and sticked.

I had about 1/2 lb of high-temp silicon holding the cat flange together.

Everything else was tip-top though.

Wisconsin is the same way. No inspection at all. Just emissions test for OBDII cars now(dropped smog testing last summer) and a gas cap pressure check for those cars as well. So anything thats 95 and older, no checks what-so-ever.

Mine was blowing all kind bad stuff at its inspection last year. My mechanic just stuck the probe thingy up another cars tailpipe.

My '96 Just passed the NJ State Inspection - always does! She NEVER fails to get compliments from the staff though sometimes they call me over to show where the OBDII port is!

Why so expensive? I've never paid more than around $15.

$15 for PA inspection and emissions? Not around here; or anywhere I have ever lived.
