Wilwood BBK kit coming soon

I have been working with a local brake supplier on getting a BBK together for the SVX. I am bringing my pearlie to get measured up this coming weekend. There will be a few options available. The kits will range from an "economy" 4 piston, 1 pc rotors, ss lines kit to a more extreme 6 piston kit. You will be able to pick and choose what way you want to go. A breakdown of prices will come later...

Re: Wilwood BBK kit coming soon

Will this be a front only kit, or are there any thoughts to a 4-wheel system?

Also, how much braking force can the master cylinder apply? Hopefully that's not going to be a limiting factor with massive calipers.

Re: Wilwood BBK kit coming soon

I have only been talking about a front kit for right now. If the master cylinder proves to be a weak point that can be upgraded as well, but I do not think that it will be....

Re: Wilwood BBK kit coming soon

Will this kit work with the stock wheels or will you need 17" or larger?

Re: Wilwood BBK kit coming soon

I am trying to work out a common time to get my car to the place where it will be getting measured. Considering I just had to ravage my pearlie for the alt, fusible link, crank angle sensor, and battery it might be a week or so.... Yes there will be an option to get a BBK to fit under 17" wheels. It will definitely be a 4 pot kit though....

Re: Wilwood BBK kit coming soon

I brought my car yesterday to get measured and to get some different brake options mocked up. Here is what came out of it...

First option is a set of Wilwood 4 piston fronts with pads and stainless steel lines, paired up with a set of rotors...

Price breakdown:
Kit = $1,200.00
Kit with DBA 4000 series rotors = $1,400.00

Second option is a 4 piston Brembo caliper off a Cadillac CTS-V. These calipers do not need the additional mounting brackets as the mounts on the caliper itself are just modified. This is a VERY beefy caliper as it was made for a 4000lb car making 400hp. These would be ordered straight from GM Racing and then paired up again like option 1 with stainless steel lines, pads, and rotors...

Price Breakdown:
Kit = $1,400.00
Kit with DBA 4000 series rotors = $1,600.00

Re: Wilwood BBK kit coming soon

Either one of these set-ups will be the absolute maximum that you can fit under a 17" wheel BUT, there are possibly some 17"s that the CTS-V calipers will NOT fit under.... 6 piston set-ups are possible as well if someone so desires....

Re: Wilwood BBK kit coming soon

Great stuff,

With little research, it is my understanding that the CTS-V used the 4 piston Brembo calipers in the rear, and in the front they used the 6 piston Brembo's... is that correct?

Is it possible to obtain DBA 4000XS?

Also, what about the rears?

This is it... The 2009's are coming with 2 different versions of a 6 piston set up...

Re: Wilwood BBK kit coming soon

I can get rears done, but unless you are wanting to just spend money then you really should not worry about them for a while. DBA 4000's are available as well as 2 piece rotors. The 2 piece rotors add to the price though...

Re: Wilwood BBK kit coming soon

I want something like this on my SVX:

http://my350z.com/forum/brakes/41075...rotor-bbk.html

Really we should explore the possibility of fitting 350z setups in our cars since they share the same bolt pattern and aftermarket brake companies are infinite...

There are Z's with even 12 pot calipers!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Wilwood BBK kit coming soon

that option is available. I can get 6 piston Wilwoods made with no problem at all. It just comes down to what you want to spend. For that I would guess 1800-2000 for a set of 6 pot fronts... I can get firmer prices if you are truly interested.
