I wish you the best in finding an SVX ( a 97 would be nice but expect to pay alot more and a 94 pearl with only 92k and taken care of is up there ) the SVX has been called the poor mans Porsche but I disagree the SVX is so comfortable when driving its just feels great nothing is poor about it (expect the trans maybe )
I will try and get some pictures this Thursday.

Thanks so far for the comments...please keep them coming!

BTW...a 944 is a poor mans Porsche and pretty close to the SVX in that is is a "touring" car and has similar highway manners...and some of the twisty manners as well...albeit a heavier car.

ooooo It's sexy. Sand wax the headlamps and it will look new! I really like it.

And just to throw this in here... the 944 isn't even a car its a disgrace and a POS I HATE them. They are like the 80's 2.8L multi-port Camaro's just grocery getters.

But I'm bias cuz I hate Porsche.... although I had considering purchasing a 911 at one point. So no offense, just hate Porsche...

Ouch! That hurt...I'm and old guy...take it easy

The headlights are #1 on the cosmetic list.

Here's the 951 [944 turbo] I once owned...it got me to the store pretty quick!

Re: New member thinking of buying first SVX...

Looks okay.

4K sounds okay but you should just hold out for a 97 with tan interior and low miles.

Although I prefer a 928 (heh, keep dreaming), I think the 944's look good. I like the white. you see so many red ones.

Is that an NSX I see parked in the garage?

That SVX definitely looks nice. I've a feeling you'll pay much more for a 97 in that condition, and good luck finding one.

If he's only interested in spending around 4k then why would he hold out for a 1997 model with low miles? Any one of the people that own one of those cars more than likely knows what they have. The only difference between the years is going to be OBDII and the grill.. not really anything fascinating.

I'd say if you want to go rare without going expensive find a 94 they were the 2nd most rare model of the SVX with only 1,666 made. Though I'm still going to say that model with low miles as is with hopefully as he mentioned a mount problem is completely worth it.. if anything he can always sell it in the future and get a 97 if he falls in love with it... like I did! =D

Yes..w/an automatic no less ...and behind the closed door...a Lotus Esprit S4 Turbo...black w/red leather. He has run out of garage space so the SVX has to go

Why? So he can buy yours?

That Pearly looks very clean (at least from the pictures). I've always wanted a Pearly. Such a beautiful color.

Re: New member thinking of buying first SVX...

I dont want to sell my 97 because its special.

I cant sell my 97 because I dont beleive in using no template.

He had a Ferrari, which is about the best you can get.

A 97 would give him the best svx he can get.

Sorry.

Sorry.

Best =/= rarest.

But I see your point.

Re: New member thinking of buying first SVX...

btw, its just my opinion.

Also, the best looking svx'es Ive seen where 92-95. Theyved been modded and look very cool.

Maybe a lot of 97 owners dont mod cause they, like me, have this possible misconception that they have something special.

My 97 is as well unmodified. It is something special, and I believe this year and model SVX when it becomes a collector car will sky rocket in price.
IIRC(and if I'm wrong someone correct me) a car to be considered for collectors status has to be at least in its 21th year? Right? So the 97 model still has basically another 10 years to go. I'll be interested to see how the prices will change(if at all) to the 92 models their first year.
