Flickering green Drive light

Notice for the first time yesterday while driving my wifes 96 Brilliant Red Lsi, that while I had the tranny in Drive the light that lights up the D on the dash Green in color was flickering. It wouldnt go completely out but just go from dim to bright back and forth several times. I was driving about 40-45mph at the time, and then shifted it to 3 and no flickering there. Any idea what that can signify or mean. Thanks.

Mine used to do this,gave the top of the dash a bang! now cured -loose bulb/connection

I gave the top of the dash a good bang as a precautionary measure and now mine is flickering.
