The smallcar clear lenses are way to expensive for how they're made.

I've been messing around with clear lenses, and when I get finished I'll probably be selling them.

I made a thread on it here

I think the Smallcar grille looks better than the stock '97 but, you should really take the time with a Dremel to open up and smooth out the openings.

I would like the '97 grill better, if it had the same grill pattern as the stock waterfall/smallcar grill.

I dunno if I can say that smallcar stole my original design. My first Mod pictures came out on this forum in 2004. Here are the pics:

Then later on I changed it to this:

I have been in contact with smallcar for loooong time, and showed them the pics of my car... hence I think the replication they did, but they made it smoother.

Am I the only one who prefers the '92 waterfall grill to the later model/aftermarket grill? the only thing I want to do to mine is get it to light up (saw a pic of one with that mod; it looked fairly simple to do and really slick). Oh, and put a light behing the "Subaru SVX" in the back, too.

Wrong picture, Chris? I know what you are talking about, but I think you put the wrong model year Merc up there!

I guess, to me, the aftermarket/newer grills look like this without the "Ford" logo.

Kinda chincy and bland; matte black plastic mesh with cheap plastic surround. Boring.

By the way, is this the Sable you were thinking of?

I see the irony, but not the resemblance.

Yes, probably

Well, most people get put off that the waterfall yellows with age. When you see it brand new and the same colour as the headlamps, it is quite nice really.

However, most would also run a mile from putting lights behind it, but to each his own. You run a serious risk of people asking you is your car called KITT, and you will have to get your hair done up in a bouffant perm so you look the prat.

Ooops, part I meant, Freudian slip

Joe

I like the waterfall, along with the stock headlights when they are polished and clear.

But lighting the waterfall is wrong.... so wrong...

Wow, it was a sable with the lights on when I linked it, LOL

Just tested it, apparently when you externally link from their site, it changes the pic

Dude . . . I'm so going home right now and modding my waterfall to have a red back-and-forth scrolling light. Knight Rider was one of my favourite shows growing up. Super-pursuit mode ftw!

Seriously, though; you may be right about the lights in the waterfall. I thought it might look good, but I could see it being gaudy, too. I'll have to research that a bit more. I still find the "new" grills to be cheap and bland looking.

Then again, I also really liked Dukes of Hazzard, so maybe I should paint the whole thing orange with a confederate flag over the top. Too bad this computer doesn't have photoshop . . .

Send Daisy over while you are painting and putting a flag on your car.
