What kind of tires are you looking for? Summer/winter/all season?

I use Falken ZE512 in 225-50/16. They are usually about £60 each (including VAT and fitting) from Bracknell Tyre and Battery. I think they are a good tyre for the money.

that's what i use from discounttiredirect.com
245/50ZR16 look the best without any body mods, plus they're all season with a Z rating. I use 255/50WR16 with body mods with the same tire.

Angela's car came with Michelin Pilots, which to my mind were noisy and not very "grippy" at the front. They tended to excentuate the understeer/front end push when driving "enthusiastically".
Replaced with Bridgestone Potenza RE720's which were IMHO loads better, much quieter, much more "feel" and again IMO better front end grip. These maybe "No Longer Available" as they are quite and old tyre now. Locally to me they were £400 for four fitted, so not the cheapest option but I didn't hagle/seek a better deal either. Kinda depends what you want to spend. Try Blackcircles.com for an overview of whats available, then try to beat the prices locally. Phil.

I love my ADVAN AD07 Neova 225/50R16. A Summer Tire and not to be used below 0 degrees, may cause damage!!

I'm with Phil on this one, you can't beat Bridgestone for tyres! you don't spend a fortune on a car then put cheap tyres on it!! it's the only thing between your pride n joy, and the black stuff. Although Yokohama make a great tyre too, again Japanese, and gave Nangkang in Korea licence to make there tyres which are very close in compound to bridgestone Potenza....I have a set on my winter hack, a Laguna, and on the wife's Mazda....and at £35 a corner!?... take a look on ebay

thanks for the response, after further research between cost, quality & usage, i have decided to fit fulda exelero 225/50/16 on all 4 corners.
these german made tyres, are part of the goodyear organization strike a ideal balance, they cost £70 each fitted and balanced from elitedirect.com. if my budget had been higher & the car used more often, then the best tyres would be either the goodyear eagle f1 asymmetric or continental contisport contact 3 |
