Arrow How many SVX'ers store for winter?

Just wondering how many SVX owners store their svx for the winter months. I would guess it would be pretty low, seeing the majority of svx owners have the AWD models and not many of us are fortunate enough to have a garage queen now are we. Thats you ARED

I store for most of the winter. Only drive on dry sunny days for pleasure.
Just too much salt up here in the north! We all need winter beaters in Ontario.
I've buried too many nice Subaru's because of it.
I vow I will not let that happen to my SVXi ...

both of mine get put away for the winter..... HOWEVER, I only take one off of the road ( to save insurance $$$), and the one I leave on the road I will take out maybe twice a winter after a really bad snow storm and go have fun in our church's parking lot (cops can't touch you there)

Well since I have the Brat now, the SVX doesn't see many winter days. I do make sure to take the SVX to work once or twice a week, but that is about it, and only when its "nice out." Heavy rain/ snow/ ice...Brat or Xterra= ftw

So to answer the question...not in hibernation...but its definately sleeping in most days

Hey Dan Da Man , get it right, , The Queen is safetly nestled in her royal chambers in the heated, humity controlled basement, longing for a Bordeaux at her side, but not alone with the RX7 and 1800 nearby. The twin Reds have the heated garage along with the Silverado! Rocket 1 be the daily driver and Rocket 2 the fair weather friend. The Grand Marquis sits in the driveway alone and in the cold.

My SVX will be stored this winter, with the legacy being the DD. Much more wrong with the SVX and it'll become a major pain for a full restoration. I'll probably take it out if we get a good snow though, have some fun, but then back in the garage.

Mine's sitting in the garage at the moment only because of my radiator issues and new rough idle problems with CEL . Soon it will come back out to play again.

SVX in hibernation

My 97 never comes out in snow or rain, my Silver 92 is also staying in for the winter. OTOH, 92 Ebony is fitted with hanook "Ice bears" and is dailey commuter until snow is over 6" Then we use the 4x4 truck for ground clearance...

None of mine come out in the mud or snow. (And it snowed yesterday and is snowing right now-view from computer room) If the weather is nice and the roads are dry, I might drive them. My 4WD Ford P/U gets the dirty and wet duties.

Mine has 40 degree f and above tires now so I have a "reason" not to want to take it out. Stable goes in, full tank of gas, charger goes on, oil gets changed probably this weekend (hasn't moved in 3 weeks anyways) then she won't get started until spring (much better for a modern car). I'll usually rotate it a bit by hand to keep tires from flat spotting.

My choices:

Ford Taurus: FWD, 145 HP, non-ABS, parking brake diconnected.

Subaru SVX: AWD, 230 HP, ABS, all working systems.

Gee, which would you drive.

The SVX is the year round car. It is the safest, most capable car anyone in my family owns for winter driving. We got a good dump of snow, the first time I've driven the SVX in fresh stuff, so I took it to a well-lit but seldom used road near my house for some go-stop tests, so I can get the feeling of it's performance. This was accompanied by a nice visit to a large, completely untouchede parking lot.

Classic SVX
The weather is freakish here in NC this year. 77 degrees today and supposed to be 79 tomorrow. Subie has the sunroof open, the windows open and I'm enjoying the crap out of her. I do leave her home on snow and rain days though.
