In my opinion his outbursts were always entertaining and I too miss them/him. Can someone please point me to the thread whereby Kelvin has been banned. I am more than curious.
I agree, sometimes the entertaining part got to obnoxious for my tastes but i could never argue because as you said his points were mostly valid and if i was responsive i often learned something.

I have very good reason to doubt the judge and jury exhibiting power here. On the first occasion that I received zero support, I became absent for a very long period. Since then my weapons have been more subtle, having learned the hard way.

I love to see a bit of honest, robust too and fro, biff and bash. What I DO NOT ABIDE is the nasty underhanded sarcasm, sneers and back biting which so often goes on unchecked. In these instances support from members outside of the jury could still the waters.

P.S. Repeat. Can someone please point me to the thread whereby Kelvin has been banned. I am more than curious.

I was taught 2 wrongs does not equal a right. Therefore both should be equally punished.

If you look up kelvin on the member pages, then look "all posts by this user"...

Nothing too severe, I have a feeling it was more a continuation of initial lifetime ban.

Trevor

There is not a thread that states that. We knew who he was and he was banned again.

Possibly the case should have gone to the jury.

The Jury is the Admin Staff.

He was banned. Permanently.

He broke the rules in returning.

If he really wanted back here, there are other ways one could approach that than trying to be subversive.

so submissive is the route to take?? I am pretty sure Rob's personality wouldn't get down on hands and knees just to be a help to others

You must be cautious that you do not exhibit a tendency towards being lord and masters. N.B. The proletariat.

Is the admin. now chosen by the founder, or has power become available to those who desire power?

I am confident that Chris (the original) would not have been content with a dictatorship, benevolent, or otherwise. In the context of the wonderful community of his making which has now developed, a flaw exists.

When the business of policing the site became too time consuming for Chris, there was a post asking for nominations. Nominations were made and I *think* Chris made the selections of current moderators from that list.

As for Ca$h/Rob/Chicane/kelvin and others that have been permanently banned, anytime the moderators are in agreement based on our special top-secret secret electronic forensic data, that someone who was banned has rejoined, the account is immediately closed. No discussion with the general population necessary, as this is a private board and there is no inalienable right of membership.

A permanent ban is just that. PERMANENT. Creating a new account does not end the permanent ban.

Doug
