Another new SVX owner

Just picked me up a 92 SVX, it was listed on CL in the Seattle area. Has 237K and the PO said for some reason the u-joints went out on the front of the shaft and fubared the transfer clutch housing. He actually tried to JB weld it and of course it leaked, badly. I do have a couple of units already sourced, just have to get to the yard tomorrow and grab one. Should be a $26 part and the car only cost me $700.
I've been a long time Old Gen owner, theres some here that probably know me from USMB, XT6.net and NASIOC (Hi y'all) and this purchase brings my stable up to 6 Soobs.
Heres a few pics of it after a wash today.

Its needs a few interior pieces and I have already read about the shady folks thread. Have a bid on a passenger side visor on Ebay right now from someone in UT, it looks like they arent on the list to be ware of.
So, greetings all. You will see me here asking Q's about everything I dont about New Gen stuff, lol

Yes! I am aware of that. The car is going on jackstands tomorrow and I will put the wheels they way they are supposed to be (Make note to self, add to new greeting threads).
The right rear was very obvious. It was previously a front wheel and had brake dust caked on so thick and hard it could not be washed off. Even a chemical couldnt take it all off. I actually had to use a scaper to get it off.
Once I got it cleaner, I could see the L stamped on it. Then I remembered that I heard that SVX wheels were directional.

Welcome to the club. They're great and fun cars, and the folks here have done some incredible things with them.

Welcome to the site.
No, thats a 87.5 XT-Turbo I picked up a couple of weeks ago. And I just sold a 89 XT GL I had for one month. This car was a beauty and made the trip from PNW all the way to TN (Deals Gap, Tail of the Dragon).
So I'm a big fan of the Alcyones

Oh, haha. I should've looked more closely at the center of the side glass, that would've given it away... boy don't I feel sheepish.

An XT is fine too.

Congratulations on the car!. I talked to the seller just before you got there (Driving a front-loader down the street while chatting on his cell phone) & as it was described, I expected a restoration car, not as good as it appears it is. I have a sailboat upgrade / refitting project underway & a 95 SVX in last stage of work still so probably couldn't have given another one it's proper attention. Glad this one got to someone on the forum here and sounds like you'll be through the issues shortly! Good luck & hope to see this one on the road!

He did mention that a couple of other people called, but he said I called first and had first dibs When I looked at it and he descibed the problem, I knew I had to get it. It was just to good a deal to pass up
