I've seen paperwork for a variety of cars over the years that the dealers file with the factory in such cases (however I can't say that Subaru follows suit..) Usually they're titled "Extended Period Warranty Start-Up" or similar. It should be worth checking into. Maybe the guys in Denver can vouch for them now, but none of the Shortline stores had a stellar reputation when I lived there.
