Thumbs up Yahoo Members Comin' Atcha

Going for broke: this makes three threads on this new forum.

A lot for those of us used to the one track mind that the old Yahoo board used to be, before they cluttered it up with ads.

A warm welcome to anyone checking in from England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, France, Belgium, Austria, anywhere in the Northern Hemishere. On second thoughts, if you are from South Africa or the penal colonies [we know where you live fellahs!] join in, this club is about the SVX, there are no boundaries.

There is a world of help and information available here. Also people who chat a good deal, and a few incorrigible punsters. [who should be past it but can still remember the words]

Joe

Welcome

Marty

Glad you checked in. I reckon it will build up in time, UK members don't post a lot or visit a lot, but once the facility is there and they get used to using it, we will get busy.

Meantime, have you any idea how many SVXs were sold new in Austria?

Joe

Rare

I asked at the austrian government and they told me that there
are 30 SVX driving around at the moment in austria.
I think that will also be the number of cars sold new.
I have never seen one on the road before, except my own!
I am sorry for the austrian folks, cause they are hiding there
SVX's.

It would be great to have a mini-meet here in austria.
But where are all the SVX'sers.
I don't know.

I`ve found you

This site is just fantastic. That Yahoo site was literally driving me around the bend. Perhaps we can get down to some serious SVX talk now. I would really like to get this `Meet` finalised. Anyone still up for it? I`m dying to meet you lot,and see some other cars. I originally suggested May but was opposed by some people, that wanted to go elsewhere other than Torquay. Any thoughts or suggestions?
Rich.

Yes, I am pleased we are based here for another reason. There is a facility for running a poll. We can put up a number of options, have people drop in and vote, and select the most popular.

Bit premature right now, there are too few of us here.

I suggest we have a go at emailing anyone we know from Yahoo UK, and invite them here. Then the world [and Torquay] is our oyster.

Joe

Rich,
Welcome to the Network. I'm happy you like the atmosphere and the decor of our cozy little "Clubhouse."

I sure wish I were a bit closer. I'd like to meet up with you lot, also. Maybe some day.

Meanwhile, now that you're here, I'll expect a full report on your trip to Las Vegas and points West. I hope that you and Claire were treated well during your visit.

Again, welcome. Make yourself at home.

I thought you were a fortuneteller

just kidding

I looked at the date first.

But never the less. Congrats for your national-team.
I would have guessed, that the game ended 1 - 1.
The US - Boys are getting better and better.

I think the interests in soccer are growing in the states, altough
it's a sport without a chance compared to football, baseball etc.

Crystal balls

like a glass monkey, me.

yes Marty, I do agree, the US side is coming on of late. It is a minority sport in North America, but there is a lot of talent which will surface in the next few years when they make a better mark on the world stage.

Good to see it.

Joe

I'm beginning to enjoy the irony in sports. Remember a few years ago when the Toronto Bluejays won the World Series? I think it was the following year, a U.S. team won the Stanley Cup. Next thing you know, Ireland will be kickin' our butts in Basketball.

Kickin your butts? I doubt it. The teams we have here at present, when interviewed sound suspiciously like they are from a parish in Connecticut. All[nearly] American imports.

We don't currently have enough Zulu bloodlines in the genetic pool. But we're getting there.
