Question Transmission fluid type

Just had a tranny rebuilt. Have had the SVX 2 months, waiting for the tranny to be rebuilt. Getting it back this weekend. Looking for recommendations for transmission fluid type. Synthetic or regular Dextron Mercon 3. Any input on this would be appreciated. Thank you, Fishtail.

Significant Technical Input Registered SVX
Synthetics can handle the heat better than natural oils.
I personally like BG products.

I use RedLine D4 ATF. You can also use non synthetic as long as you change it often...and most important make sure you add a tranny oil cooler if you don't already have one.

With a name like "fishtail" you really ought to attend the NW seafood meet!

I use synthetic tranny fluid, but I've toasted my tranny a few times. The cooler is a must, I also appreciate having a tranny temp gauge.

Try Valvoline DEXRON III/MERCON, change the filter, and add a bottle of LUCAS STOP SLIP tranny additive. Should make it smooth and more reliable.

I've heard this said about engine oil and the same probably applies to transmission fluid:

It doesn't matter too much which brand you use, provided you change the fluid often enough.
