Thanks Guys!
No cement truck yet, maybe tomorrow.
It will be nice not to have to stop in the middle of a big project so that the shop can do, (or not do) a $19 oil change!

Sensitive! Here is a picture of my cat 'Buttercup' during my son's B-Day party. She would let anyone go upstairs (Good kitty). Nothing sensitive about her.

Back on Topic! I have to stop down there when the garage is all done.
Well as promised, here's the pic of my kitties:

Tuckerton (on the right) and Toddsbury (on the left) are in the foreground and Amelia is in the back. Unfortunately, Amelia wandered off a few months ago and has not returned...

Now back to Tom's garage thread!

P.S. Kevin, your cat Buttercup really reminds me of my cat David (or 'King David' as some people call him).

Thanks Diana for answering my questions.

Whose car is gonna put in the garage? Tom told me, with the lift up, the garage will fit at least three cars in there.

Is there going to be a window on the roof of the garage?...if you build the stairs on the wall, looks like there would be a quick access to the living of the house thru the balcony.

Ken,

I was so busy answering your other questions, I (we) forgot to mention that this will be a 2-story garage addition. The half with the lift has to have a 12 foot ceiling to accommodate the lift, but the other half will have a normal (8 foot) ceiling, above which will be an addition to the main floor of the house. We plan on putting in a master suite (bedroom and bath) and use our old bedroom as a guest bedroom. It will involve tearing out the closet and putting another in that room so that we can put the entrance hall to the new addition through where the closet used to be.

These are relatively long range plans, to be done in our spare (??) time (we'll do most if not all of the work ourselves). It will probably be done over the winter.

We figure between adding a 2-car garage and adding another bed & bath (we only have 1 now, if you remember), it should add about 30-40% to the value of the house.

Of course, the garage is the most important thing right now. My new bedroom can wait.

And we haven't decided yet whose car gets the other half of the garage.

Chike,
You're really starting to scare me with the kitten pics
How many Hp do you think they're worth if you have them in the car?

Only 85 lbs? C.D. (our ~100 lbs. German Shepherd) will keep him in line....

Rudy -- not an overly "happy" dog
CD -- big dog, not looking to tear your arm off

Yeah, Bill, is right, Rudy has had anger issues since he was a pup and he doesn't hesitate to try and murder people... Not something we are proud of but a sick sense of security to say the least

LOL! I just love cats. We used to have 6 but we're now down to 4. We're thinking of going to the SPCA soon and getting my son Zach an orange kitty. Having 4-5 cats around is a healthy number - definitely keeps the mice away.

Ha ha ha! No, but I think the kitties mom (Grumpy) was attacked by our neighbor's dog. The little kitty Amelia just wandered off somewhere North of our house into the Blue Ridge Mountains.

I had a 132# Great Dane/Pit Bull mix once, named Mokey.
Rhymes with Smokey.
I'll tell you about him someday.
