Sorry for the thread jack. A Legacy STI would be cool. I know the '07 LGT Spec B will have Si-Drive and 243hp (under the new SAE standard), but I've heard rumors that the next 'revision' of the Legacy model will get a bump in power to 280hp.

i already owned my dream car - luckily it was much cheaper than yours.

i flip flop around concerning my next car - i like the smaller form factor of the STi/EVO, for tossing around and slicing through traffic, but then again, the Legacy really isn't that big of a car, either. i do like the interior better on the LGT, where you spend most of your time. i'll just wait and see what's out when i'm ready - my LGT hasn't even broken 10k miles yet, so i'll just STFU for now. my springs are going on this week, and then UP/DP/stage 2 hopefully before the middle of July.

That's the main reason why the STI model of the next gen Impreza will be on my shopping list. Weight (or lack thereof). The R35 GT-R is supposed to weigh between 3,6000-3,900lbs which is a serious porker (even though it'll move like stink with 450+bhp)!

The photos are really beautiful. One thing about having an SVX, for the time being I don't want to purchase new cars that loose so much value so fast. If I can have a really nice car like an SVX in great condition, and if I take care of it, then I don't feel like I'm spending so much money. I can see the appeal if you drive something boring. The SVX was an expensive car, by my standards, I feel like I'm driving a higher quality car. My 2006 Outback doesn't have matching painted mirrors and door handles and the seat bolts are exposed. On the SVX the bolts have plastic cover pieces, and matching paint mirrors and door handles. Subaru raised the prices on the Outback and you would think it could come with these items.

Anyway, the photos look great and maybe I can buy a used one in twelve years : )

actually, the LGT holds its value pretty well, based on all the *****ing by guys at LGT.com trying to buy a used one on the cheap.

i have painted mirrors (with integrated turn signals) and door handles on the LGT. i'll take the turbo over seat bolt covers, though.

Ha ha. Hope you never get a ride in a WRX of any model year DanSVX96 - the interior definitely is spartan and there's wind noise around the A-pillars above 60mph. Oh yeah, lots of exposed seat bolts and the glovebox tends to get this slight rattle over bumps!

I bought my 23K Impreza for autoX & drag racing and the utlity of having a backseat (for picking up the kids). I can live with these shortcomings, b/c I'm just in love with the benefits!

Mrs. Shark's '02 WRX is like a Lexus compared to her previous car - a '92 base model Cavalier. that thing had AM/FM (not even cassette) and manual windows.

the WRX is solid, though - no rattles. however she got a little weirded out the first time she drove in a heavy rain and experienced the lack of roof insulation. "damn, that''s loud!"

Chike, you could probably fix the glovebox rattle easily. rattles drive me nuts.

It rattled a whole lot when I had my tire pressure gauge in there - but it's much less now. The door to the glove box in the closed position, just isn't 'flush' with the dash. It doesn't bother me in the least. The car is otherwise solid and squeak & rattle free.

Its going to be way overpriced for the performance. How much better can it be than an Evo or STi? And it don't got four doors!

  • Multi-link rear suspension
  • Larger sway bars front & rear (at least 25")

Interesting to compare the future STI to the future Evo. Subaru seems to by trying to turn the STI into a near-race ready track car while Mitsu is trying to turn the Evo into an M3 killer (the IX MR is pretty much already there except the interior isn't up to snuff).

The more goodies that come stock, the better.
For probably about $3K in basic bolt-on parts (intake, full exhaust, a few intercooler pipes, manual boost controller, exhaust cam, alky, and a custom flash), the Evo IX can make over 400 whp on the stock turbo. Its amazing what that motor can do.

Mychailo,

That's a good question. At this point, I'm not 100% sure how much better the R35 GT-R will be over the next gen Evo and STI and if it'll be worth the extra $$$. The next gen STI may just be the way I'll go on my next car - however, I do want to own a GT-R somtime in my lifetime!

Btw, I wouldn't need four doors in my next car. I'm looking to sacrifice some practicality for all-out performance.

Yeah the TD05H 16G on the Evo IX is just a super nasty turbo to get stock from the factory!
