Well, then you probably never seen let alone heard of the exclusive and much acclaimed Resident Evil 4 for Gamecube. Also, you got a problem with Metroid and Zelda games?

Not to mention the fact about the possibilities of the controller it comes with as well as the fact that the Revolution will be at least $100 cheaper.

I thought this would be the last forum where I would come across fanboys.

not a big fan of the RE-type "spooky" games, either. my brother always like Nintendo stuff, but not me.

that controller looks kinda goofy, and i'm sure they will be an aftermarket version like it for the PS3 anyway.

i'll spend the extra $100 for a system that will actually have a nice selection of games.

The Revolution's controller will literally revolutionize (at the very least) console FPSs, and I think developers will flock to the system once they realize what they can do with it.
I sincerely doubt anyone will try to create an aftermarket version for the PS3.

The reason people favor the PS3 is because it doesn't have a goofy controller.

if it turns out to be popular, why wouldn't it be copied?

look at all the PS2-style computer game controllers.

While I'm sure the controller is quite versatile, doubling (tripling?) as a light gun, tv remote, and nun chucku, I don't see the demand in the PS3 or X360 markets being high enough to warrant that kind of development. I do think if it's popular with NinRev it could have more ergonomical incarnations released through third parties, but the majority of NinRevs games will likely be based around it's controller. PS3 and X360 games will be fine tuned to use standard fare controllers and using the NR style might present huge issues and quirks.
NinRevs plan-B however is to make the left-hand remote portion of the controller adaptable to standardized controllers through an add-on slot at the base so they have everything worked out.

The standard Dual Shock and it's successors are however the most popular controller ever concieved. That's why the PS3 will have the DS layout even though it's been implemented into a boomerang-like object. I honestly don't see the Rev style being of any good use for anything but FPSs and quirky motion sensing party games.

I just watched about half of it and those are not pre rendered. Pre-recorded yes, but rendered RT.

If anyone is interested in the PS3 look up the ign.com Sony Conference video.

It's a 603Mb file, 1hr49min long and shows everything in that short game trailer, and MUCH much more including real time demos of most of the stuff like Unreal Tournament 2007. You can see for yourself the awe-inspiring power of this system (at least in dev mode).

My favorite scene is the FFVII intro remake. (:

There's also a cool demo including Eye Toy, two cups, and a virtual bath tub with LoD.

I didn't see it all the way through so some may be prerendered, but the quality of the demos are high enough to confuse anyone.
I'm still trying to figure out whether Mobil Suit Gundam, Tekken 6, and Killzone trailers are real time or not.

I'm pretty sure the Motor Storm bit is prerended. Same for Final Fantasy XII.

The other I'm sure are not.

The HDR and volumetric particle rendering and programmable shading are mighty impressive.

I have a PS2 and a XBox, so I'm done buying consoles for awhile. I'll be buying a new desktop PC soon. Any suggestions? Sorry to hijack.

Build it yourself.
Find a cute atx tower. Some come with a power supply.
Find a mainboard that supports all the features you need. Get a cpu to match. Throw in your peripherals and cards and data storage devices.

Boot up.

No, the cg pre-render quality real time demos being manipulated before my very eyes subordinated a hastily chopped together PS3 trailer.

I'm only saying not all of the clips in that trailer are pre-rendered even though they look as if they may be.
Some of them are. Some of them are not.
