awd clutch

So i get a call from Cottman trans about my 4EAT with the blown front dif.. He got the parts and was replacing the dif and noticed the exposed rear clutch that he says is for the awd transfer is down th the bare metal. now i havent had it awd since ive owned it but I cant say the trans has ever shifted weird or anything... if the awd clutch is burned up then is it assumed the actual gear clutches are too? cananyone show pics of this clutch he is describing?

The clutch that he is talking about is the transfer clutch. The rest of the clutches in the box will not be the same as this. This one is worn out, and is proberly the reasion that the front diff has blowen. Get him to replace the clutch and the C solenoid transfer valve assemble, that control it. It won't cost much more to do, as it is allready pulled down. May be $100.

Harvey.

I know the Solenoid C is $85 from the dealer, I can only imagine what the clutches themselves will cost.
