Anybody know jap.auto.part

Anybody here done business with jap.auto.part in Derby?

They have the front end of a '94 JDM SVX and are parting it out.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...tem=4590834998

They seem genuine and reputable, but an item I ordered from them a month ago didn't arrive . I spoke to the guy last Thursday and he said it must have got lost in the post and he'll send me a refund. Sounded honest enough but I'm still waiting on the refund.

I'm not making any accusations, just looking for reassurance.

Phil.

Hi Phil

I looked at that auction a while ago. For the moment I don't need parts.

[Eh, now that's an unusual scenario, hey]

I don't know anything about them, but they seem to be on the up so far as you can tell. Get back on the phone and create a fuss. Threaten negative feedback. Whatever you can do. I'm sure you will get reimbursed.

While I am on the air, would you mind checking what is the paint code for your latest acquisition, and post it up here? A guy in the States reckons Peacock Blue is the same colour as Dark Teal. I would like to prove him wrong.

Joe

Smile jap parts

Guys
I have had a few parts( ABS unit and a power steering bracket) from them before I had a christmas tree, and found no problems everything arrived fine. I would certainly use them again.

All the best

Graham

Thanks Graham, that's good to know. How's the supercharger coming along?

Joe, I checked the paint code and it is 434.

I think I must have been wrong about the colour name. I assumed it was Peacock Blue because it was advertised as blue and looks either blue or green depending on the lighting and the angle you look from. But according to James' website, 434 is Emerald Green Mica (for the S40-II model) and Peacock Blue is 269 (for the S40 model). I don't know where James got the info from.

I've been looking through Japanese websites and I can't find a single picture of an S40 in any colour except silver. I found the site below, but that is an S40-II because it's the same colour as ours and does not have a black roof (which an S40 would have).

Thanks Phil

I will check that code vs the US one, see are we talking the same or a brand new colour.

Happy Christmas everybody.

[Phil, what does a vegetarian turkey taste like? Come to that, what does it look like, and do you have to pluck the foliage? ]

Joe

Joe,

As far as I know, all Turkeys are vegetarian. I've never seen a Turkey order a steak. But our christmas dinner this year will be a wonderfully exotic bean curry with all the trimmings and not a single feather to pluck. Feels like Diwali all over again.

Wishing you a Happy Christmas and hoping our transmissions will last for another year.

Update: I still haven't received either the part or a refund from Richard Knighton (jap.auto.part)

Worth considering if you are thinking of ordering parts from him.

Sorry to hear that Phil.

Why don't you ring him up, look for him personally and complain?

Tell him if he doesn't cough up, you will leave negative feedback at ebay.
Tell him also that you are a member of all the major Subaru forums, and that you will have the administrators put up sticky threads warning members he is untrustworthy.

That should worry him. I bet he gets a lot of business from Impreza guys.

Joe
