fiber glass hood installed!!

well my wonderfull wife and i mounted my hood today (thanks dayle looks great!) only problem i had was there are no holes for the hood lifters... no big deal... i also drilled holes to mount the rubber strips to seal off engine bay in front of hood... also the 2 rubber disks that keep the hood level with the fenders didnt mount so i trimmed them to fit and mounted them on the chassis instead of the hood. heres some pics

p.s. check out the pic of howe i used the old hood... hehe

Looks good. how are you painting all of this? staying red or going with a different color scheme?

I like the wheels, I like the hood. I even like the vinyl. The bumper will look good. but I honestly can't imagine why you want the roof scoop... it just ruins the lines IMO.

Looks really clean otherwise though

i hear that alot

i hear that about the roof scoop quite a bit. well what can i say. no one has done it and i am interested to see how it looks... im sticking with red with a ton of clear coat so it has lots of depth. just waiting on the bumper. so i can get it painted... spoiler is also on the way but its carbon fiber so no paint required

You can paint carbon fiber. Ditto on the roof scoop.

Check the how to documents. I did a write up on installing lifters in my CF hood and there are some pics of it in my locker.

I'm a big fan of the black over red color scheme:

Just something to consider when you're ready to have it painted. Either way, it should look great!

I found from some manufactures that the gas struts that hold up the hoods, can sometimes be too hard on the glass hoods while closing them, causing hoods to crack over time
from shutting them
Most suggest using a old school prop rod on glass hoods.
Glad it made it there okay You never know with
these trucking companys...
I bet smokey bones was happy

they were happy

they were happy i picked it up... it was sitting in the back of the store outside locked up... my wife used to work there and were in good with them. we were up there drinkin when they told us they had a big box in the back... so i stumbled (drunk) to the back to check it out... and just to be safe i decided to wait to take it home because i would have tried to mount it i was so excited... (not a good i dea when drunk)!!! anyway looks great good fit and it looks great with the roof scoop. i took it on a test drive to day and hit 120 mph and no flutter... i think using the stock rubber seals from the hood was a good idea... you could still see the marks from the holes on the underside of the glass hood so i just drilled them out (carefully) and remounted the stock seal... anyway just waiting on spoiler and this freakin bumper!!! went to PTAP (local tuner shop) today and ordered my seats ($1000) and picked up a crabon fiber shift knob to match the carbon fiber interior i plan on ordering from dayle. actually im only paying $900 for the seats because when Alex (my buddy at PTAP) was looking up seat brackets i told him they wouldnt find any... he disagreed and assured me they can get anything. so i bet him $100 and of course won... so they are custom making me seat brackets for $150 a piece... oh well im used to it now... i just thank god my insurance company covered some of my new windshield ($1200) that was ridiculous
