Custom Headlights?

I was just wondering if anyone has ever fabricated other cars headlights into the svx? I think that a sylvia's headlights would look sweet. I have no clue if they would fit or if its even possible. Post your views and or attemps.

I've always thought the fourth-gen Mustang headlights would look good.

Didn't someone have a photoshop of that?

I think putting rhd headlights on a lhd car would be idiotic first of all, and secondly you headlights are so good stock why go through all the work?

silvia = 240sx... people just think silvia sounds cooler.

who EVER said our headlights were good? personally i think thats the biggest weakness of the cars styling, and even with the 9005/9006 conversion I did, (which works great) the rain still makes it seem as if i don't have any headlights. I've contemplated this idea, and think that with enough fiberglass, patience, and a good idea of what you want, you could make a VERY unique SVX. I personally like the new legacy headlights. Or if you got really creative, i think fitting the HID headlights from a not brand new BMW would be pretty sweet.. those are taller though, so you'd have to completely change the front end of the car

Or just have em molded slightly deeper into the bumper _-----_ rather than trying to mod the hood for that -____-

actually your wrong. 240sx=180sx in japan. The silvia is a different body style on the same chassis.

actually the "silvia" name was given to both the 240sx and a newer version.... check here http://trueno.streetracing.org/custom2.html and they 240 and the "newer" version are both S-14s

Just wondering, which of those were you originally tlaking about

Have you tired aiming your headlights? The bubble level is really just a gimmick unless you are parked on exacltly level ground w/ perfect factory spec suspension (that isnt worn out from a decade + of driving).

I have installed 120W 9005's into my low beams and I have absolutely no visibility issues in the rain or any other situation. I also use PIAA Ion Crystal H3's in the fogs which actually make the car look very similar to the Sylvia's headlamp when turned on. The 9005's I have are deep blue & the fogs are yellow. Aside from the Sylvia using 3 projectors they actually look quite similar.

I think the only downside to the SVX's headlamp is the choice of lense material which fogs / yellows over time. But mine is really just one of many opinions; to each his own.

I'm pretty sure when he said silvia, he meant the coupe/silvia body style, and not the hatchback/180sx/240sx body style. Since a 180sx/240sx is a 180sx/240sx and not a silvia.

Our headlights are some of the best. Your comment about not being able to see your lights in the rain is a good thing. If you could see your headlights very clearly in the rain you would be producing quite a bit of glare, which isn't safe for you or other drivers. Are you aware that our headlights are almost as good as the new legacy/outback lights? The only difference is the bulb. With some Silvania Xtravisions and an upgraded wiring harness they would be as good, if not better than stock leg/ob.

Everytime a lighting thread is brought up I try to stay away but it never works.

He asked for views on the subject, what were you expecting to get? A bunch of yes-men?

the smallcar.com clear lenses and clear corners (or JDM clear corners) do an amazing job at updating the look of the car. you lose the fog lights, though (they become driving lights with the conversion.)

i just ordered some OSRAM Silverstars for the Legacy GT, so i'll post my review when i get 'em. i'll be able to compare to the "USDM Silverstars" that i have in the SVX.
