I'm happy if I can go 250 on a tank....fill up at E....all city driving, mostly short drives...under 2 miles.
A few weeks ago I got about 165 to E....

i don't give a second thought to squeezing at least 350 miles per tank in mixed driving. i've gonna over 400 several times, and look forward to a 450+ mile tank on a road trip.

I go about 300 miles before I fill up in the winter. That usually leaves me with a few gallons left. I think I average 22 MPG for mixed city/highway. The most mileage I've ever driven on one tank was 440...that was a roundtrip to NYC (360 miles all highway) and then a few days of going to work and back.

I don't have any towns to drive in. All highway. I can rely on 700km/432mpg, though I have squeesed, 760/470, out back.
Harvey.

Well there seems to be either boats.... People are getting good gas mileage or bad gas mileage (with driving habits taken into account)...
Is there a common issue on these engines that would cause gas milage to go down the tubes, like a oxygen sensor??? Some cars, a issue like a oxygen sensor woud throw a code but not kill your mpg, but on others a bad oxygen sensor can cut your gas mileage in half... I am gonna have to look into getting this fixed... 250 per tank at Premium prices is crazy .

I could mathematically get 850km+ on one tank from full to dry (29USmpg). The most I've put on one tank though was 720km+.
In the winter I'd be lucky to get 500km on one tank unless it's all highway.

yesterday i filled up my tank, it was right before the E, so it still had a couple gallons left in it. Went 243 miles on 13.6 gallons which is 17.7 MPG, which is right where i was figuring i would get (18-20 MPG). The best i've gotten so far is 24 mpg driving her back and the worst i've gotten was the previous tank 15.1 MPG lol.
What is everyone's gas prices at? They just raised it here to $2.139/gallon for 92 . It was stable at $2.059 for a month before that.

For the first time in a couple of months I've gotten over 300 miles on a tank. The weather around here has gotten about 25 degrees warmer and I suspect my mileage may be related, though I'm not sure why.
I just put in a gallon of toluene with eight gallons of premium petrol. We'll see if anything happens. I don't expect I'll even notice, but every so often I get struck by dumb luck. If I don't start getting over 300 per tank, I'm gonna tear things apart. I've got a latent code for the EGR valve, so I'll probably start there. My spark plugs are new, the air filter at least looks very clean and new. Off the top of my head, I'm can't think of anything else to look for aside from engine sensors that might be giving the ECU bum data. Engine power seems up to par, especially considering the age and mileage of the vehicle. Anybody else want to hijack this thread and turn it into a "Help! How can I get better mileage?" thread? |
