Mini Meet With Stevebsy
He Everybody
Thought we could have a mini meet on Thursday night to meet Steve (stevebsy) and his wife before they leave for Reno . We can BBQ some food and you can meet him. Thought that may be a fun thing to do. Let me know if you are comming so I can plan on you. I thought we could meet at 5:00 to 6:00 and eat soon after 6:00 so it won't be too late of a night. He needs to get started early Friday morning. I will have chicken for the BBQ, and if you want to bring salad, or beverages etc, that would be great. Come and have a good time. Weather will be great! If you need directions, PM or email me and I will send you directions and phone numbers.

Oh nevermind, I was getting ready to write you a fairly traffic-free (and fun driving too!) route that would get you from Redmond to Burlington, but I just remembered that you work in Seattle now.  I'm pretty sure if you left work at 4:00 in the U-district, you would be at Earl's by 6:00, but that whole 2 hours will likely be used for driving.  Once at Earl's though it would be a good time.

If I leave Wed morning and go west on I 70, North on I 15 to I 84 and west to I 5, I could make the party Sounds like a plan .......... But I better pass on it this time  .Seriously, sounds like fun - the small meets seem to be the best ones. Hope ya'll have fun - I know you will!! Say Troy. MacGyver made it and had a good visit, but it looks like that it all that will make it. Steve is still working on the car, but will have it done for his departsure tomorrow morning. Early to bed and out the door with the chickens.
We tried a quick meet, but it didn't really happen. It was short notice, but we tried anyway. Thanks everyone.

I survived!
Well, just got back home to 297 new posts to read :O
The XT survived the trip, but it had some adventures, like the tire with separated belts causing the whole car to jump up and down. Thankfully, we were right at a town in Idaho (I think) and got 2 new tires installed in like 20 minutes at a small shop. Then later adventures included various coolant leaks from hoses requiring some re-clamping, and a mysterious what appeared to be a fuel starvation problem that was there for about 10 mins, then gone, causing great nervousness. So..in summary..thanks a TON to Earl for letting us stay at his place and redo the head gaskets and timing belts, and such on the XT. Sadly, I spent so much time working on the XT, we hardly had any socializing time We'll have to make up for that next time.Good to meet you Troy at last, and again to see Earl and the hounds. Now to sleep.......more later

Good to hear you made it home Steve.
I will admit when I saw that XT with the engine in pieces all over Earl's garage floor I was thinking you were a braver man than I. And your wife is much braver than mine too! Good to finally meet you, sorry I had to leave so quick.
