Go to the auto parts store, ask for plastic pollish, you'll need several grades, start with agresive to clean the lenses, then go to medium, then pollishing. If they don't have it you may need to go to a high end paint store, I've used 3M products and they do wonders!

I have seen some that looked much worse than the ones in your pictures, and after polishing the outside, looked as good as the finished product. Do you really need to open them up if they are clean inside? I would hate to do all that extra work if not needed.

Gosh, I didn't think that Mother's Mag & alluminum polish would put all of that condensation in the waterfall grill! I used Eagle 1, and it cleaned the lights, but with out the condensation.

You are opening up for a few reasons. The inside does get dirty over time.

The biggest reason is to remount the glass projector lense. Even the newest lense will get chipped. Why? Because someone at FHI overlooked the way the bracket for the lens was done. It's metal bracket holding the glass lens over metal seat. So over time, it will get chipped and it will get worse. So I open it up and use rubber cement to mount it once and for all so that glass will not get anymore damage.

My lenses havent chipped over 150,000 miles. Additionally, i think he just asked how to clean them, not how to remount the ellipsoids.

I thought so... but somehow... putting paper towell in the oven? Also, what keep the plastic unit from melting against whatever it is stitting upon in the oven, or is 275 degrees too low to heat the metal in the oven to the melting point?

B-T-W I can see glass chips (more like crumbs) inside my headlamps in front of the BLOB...

Remember the new lights that SVXCESS boought? He sold them with the pearlie. When Doug and I checked the lights they were already chipped YMMV I guess but they do get chipped. If I am going to clean the lights might as well do a good job and do both inside and out.

Just outside is fine. What you did to my pearlie was amazing!

After you take the light out, you can tilt it and all the glass chips will fall to that side. It's amazing.
