Engine Grounding kits...

IF anyone wants a clean engine grounding kit made just for SVX's let me know... I have a contact that makes Grounding kits from 8 Ga wire and has offered to make some specifically for our cars... I am the guiney pig... After that there could possibly be a group order going down... Look in the MOD section for my post there and reply if you are interested... Thanks1!!

i made my own for less than $10. 8 feet of 4 or 6 gauge wire (i forget) from Home Depot and some big copper lugs, and some heat-shrink tubing i already had. i've seen some of these grounding kits for over $100, which is freakin' RIDICULOUS!

engine grounding?

Could someone expand on this subject? I've seen other references here to upgraded alternator and/or ground wiring and have wondered what shortcoming this is intended to correct.

thanks,
dcb

just an extra $.02 for you. The voltage increase probably will make your lights a bit brighter but there is no performance gain to be had. The ecu actually monitors voltage and adjusts both it's applicable sensor readings and injector latency accordingly.

I'll PM ya as soon as I find the wire that I want to use... I am looking for some nice and big stuff... 8 Ga. or 6 Ga... After I get the first one made I'll just sell the kits for the price of the materieal, I'm not gonna charge fellow SVXers for labor...

That's cool, I'm just looking for something to smooth out the little dimming that happens when I turn on alot of things... (ie. lights rear defrost, A/C...)...

While you're at it I highly recomend the optima red top battery. Your car will start better too. Costco has them for $100 but i think they sit on their shelves for a while.

and for smoothing there's always the good old traditional farad capacitor to install next to your audio amp if you've got one. That's not isolated to only the amp it will give fast current to anything in the system.
