Talking I got to drive my first SVX today

Now i know why you guys and gals love your cars so much. first words out of my mouth when i turned the key where "wait, is it on" its so damn quite and smooth the guy was nice enough to go a little run down with all the buttens inside and there are a lot .
brought it around town i even noticed some people turning there heads as i rolled by when bringing it back to his house brought it up on the interstate and got it up too 75MPH and still smooth like i was on rails. one thing i wasent quite sure of was when i touched the gas i thought the RPMs when a little high to like 2.5 then i would shift and go back to normal but i wasent sure if that was anything to worry about. but other wise the car was very, very, very nice.

Hmm. Only 17 huh. I'm glad I didn't have an SVX at 17, I'd be dead or in jail. What is your current whip?

I would not have been able to afford the repairs on an svx at 17 - I can still barely afford them now with a good paying job. If you have the funds, you seem to have the driving experience - I'd say go for it. Life would have been alot different had I gotten into an svx at 17

So far I've been able to afford mine. I pay for all the maintenence and upgrades. Thank God I didnt have to do anything major other than wheel bearings and the usual wear and tear.

Personally I think a Subaru BRAT is the perfect first car. It can go off road, and it's to slow to really kill your self in.

Check with the insurance company for sure. My insurance went up by about $300 a year when I got the SVX (I'm a very young 51 with no tickets in recent memory). That was moving from a 91 MR2 turbo to the SVX - State Farm Insurance, so it's a reasonably reputable company I deal with - if any insurance company can be called reasonable/reputable by the average person.

Dude I bought mine when I was 19 and my insurance was about $2,000 every 6 months..... That's because I had a wreak on my record though... After it came off It dropped by about $1,200... and in two more months it will drop another $800... So now after two years of near bankrupcy I am finally starting to get a fair deal on my insurance.... However at this time I am also replacing my tranny... Best thing I could tell ya is don't buy it if you have any doubts that you could not pay for the maintance on it... Very expensive... But other than that it is an awesome car and I still wouldn't change my mind about getting it if I could go back in time.... Good luck man
