I'd still rather see...
Why should Subaru bother putting an H-6 in a restyled GT when they would be better off releasing the B4 RSK and the B4 Blitzen? I mean seriously folks, the best cars ever released by Subaru were the SVX, WRX STi Electra (the one with the two-tiered titanium rear wing) and the B4 Blitzen (which is a dream in GT3, lol). The regular Legacy GT Ltd is posh though - as posh as the SVX, minus the power. A 5 or 6 speed (or better yet, triptronic) Blitzen would be a dream come true though.
On the flip side, I found out that after an accident I was in back in 99, the person who hit me (I was turning across traffic, so I was at fault) decided to claim $4k in bodily injury and $5k in property damage - even though the only problem with her car was the headlights, mine was totalled. So guess what that makes my insurance?? No SVX for me for another year and a half |

Don in a Blitzen
<Why should Subaru bother putting an H-6 in a restyled GT when they would be better off releasing the B4 RSK and the B4 Blitzen?>
Because the Legacy already has passed the crash tests and the H-6 has already passed the emissions tests? Would WE be better off with those cars over here? Oh YEAH!!! Will Subaru do it?__________(fill in the blank) Don

The blank is probably YES. Soon. when I talked to the subaru reps, SOA or rather FHI gained a couple of things from GM and GM gained a couple of things from FHI. GM gained a market in Asia for their small tiny car (can't remember the name but probably a POS). FHI/SOA gain access to the emission testing facilities of GM so that they can do the emission tests cheaper. GM will not be taking the H-4/6 designs in their cars for cost reasons amongst other things Lwin

2003 SVX article
I ran across the article on a proposed 2003 SVX in the AutoWeek website from April of 2000. I wrote to Subaru USA, and they said they had no idea. I hope it's not just some trial balloon.

Lancer EVO
I was looking through Sport Compact Car, and the ones they showed was a base Lancer whose biggest element is a OZ racing edition with some spiffy wheels. I don't have the article in front of me, but I think you could track it down through http://www.gr8ride.com

The thing is I should be asleep but... anyways, the dealers told me once that they are comming out with a 2 door coupe based on legacy model once. But then again, its the dealer. Then SOA main rep. as well as the team leader for SOA japan for Impreza told me personally that the market for bigger 2 door coupe is not as high as it used to be and there are too many people to compete with, so no more big coupes from Subaru for now. They are pushing the WRX and RS (which they should be). Subaru is a small fish in a big pond guys. I hate to say that. Toyota, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Mazda those are big car companies in Japan. Subaru is tiny compare to Toyota or Nissan. Subaru makes some nice cars, B4 for example is an amazing car. I'd love to own one. The only thing blocking me from owning one is the US laws. How can you import cars into US -- bring 6 cars in to the US. Give 5 to the govt for crash tests and all other tests. The last one, if the car passes all the tests, is yours to drive. The thing with importing cars is that when you import a car into the US, you have to meet the US regulations if you want to have a US plate. As far as I know, the only fleet who do not need to follow the local country's homolocation (sp) laws is the UN fleet vehicles with the UN plates (eg. UNHCR, UNDCP). I believe the UNP (personal) cars have to pass the local laws -- so I can't ask my dad to import one for me EVO, last time I read, needs to redo the front air intake to pass the crash tests in the US. STi WRX needs to pass the emission tests to be allowed into the US. The thing is with the small AWD cars getting popular, many companies are pushing for those cars now. Mitsubishi wants to bring in the EVO, Nissan is bringing in the Skyline (03), Subaru with the STi, and Mazda with the MP3, god only knows where this might lead... I did not mean to write a book tonight. Sorry... I got carried away. Back to my midnight nap. Lwin
