Re: New addition to the Subaru family

Yep, its got an iPod connector wired into the stereo. It uses the satalite radio connection, which means you lose that function. The controls work through the stereo though, so the iPod can be tucked away in the center console and forgotten. I've got an old Nano that can be loaded up with music and left in the car.

Unfortunately it doesn't appear to be iPhone compatible. I was hoping for charging ability for my phone.

One thing I was utterly horrified to discover was the price of update discs for the nav system. They're about $240. The previous owner never updated the software, so anything that's appeared in the past 5-7 years doesn't come up in an address search. I think I'll look for other Legacy owners who'd be interested in sharing the cost.

that's cool, i had to buy the JDM cubby adapter and put a headunit in mine for iPod use (had the climate controls and CD changer all tied together ). kept the 6 disc changer to run through the AUX of the headunit.

i'm in the same boat, the EVO maps need the update discs, and a physical "key" to update, so i'm outta luck - too much $$ to bother. Google maps on phone is better anyway for the few times i actually need it.

this may or may not help, Canadian systems may be different .... ????
