Over sensitive gas pedal?
The last couple of days I've been searching old posts to see if I can figure out something on my SVX, but so far I haven't had any luck.
Here's the problem. Since the rebuild the gas pedal has been extremely sensitive. It's fine when I first take off but when at a speed I want to cruise at, you practically don't have to touch it. The slightest pressure will make you accelerate. Anyone seen this before? I've heard people talk about having a bad throttle position sensor so I tried looking that up but it doesn't seem to be the same thing. Any ideas?

Perhaps the throttle cable is adjusted too tight, without slack?

Same here. Cables are probably too tight.
Chiketkd did a thread back in 2004 about tightening the throttle cables to remove the slack and improve the throttle response. see HERE .

Thanks, that thread does sound exactly what I'm experiencing. Perhaps when they rebuilt the engine they tightened it up? I'll play with it later today if I can get out of work early enough. Thanks again

Yep, this is also something I need to tweak before I pull my car out of storage next month. After I stripped and rebuilt my throttle body (Which I DO NOT recommend anyone do) I installed the lines a little tight. Idle is up around 900 RPM and it will roll forward quite quickly in gear.
Definitely not doing wonders for fuel economy.
