While reading this thread, I started to think about that "3rd" brake light, ( in the rear window). If that bulb goes out, will the "stop lamp" also come on? If so, would it be beneficial to change all "5" bulbs?

OK, I knew I really couldn't remember where it was but my question remains the same, does that bulb affect the idiot light on the dash?

The LEDs in the third brake light are individually connected so if one burns out, the rest stay lit. I have seen a few SVXs with some of the LEDs not working. You could always unplug the unit and see. .
