So they are saying everything was fine.....piston blows up......ALL the oil evaporated. This happened in that order?

Impossible...

Did they rebuild the short block when you had them do the initial work?

I know we talked about it a few weeks ago, but my memory is short

Re: i need a motor

possible. I have had a land go bad in an N/A motor/ Problem is, you would have lost all compression in at least one cylinder and would have noticed a dead miss.... The thing was leaking oil somewhere. The internal or external hermorage ran the motor dry and oil starvation took out the big end of the rod. Rod snapped, piston slams into the head. Rod takes out coolant jacket which masks the fact that you were getting oil into your coolant ( they didn't torque the heads right probably). More or less, its not your fault, but it is your load to carry if you don't want to lay it on the shop

I'm sorry I'm not closer to Texas to help you. I really feel bad for what has happened to you. This is why I have given up on mine.

I'm surprised no one has suggested the low mileage JDM motors to you on ebay for under $1,000 shipped.

It probably wasn't knocking. Just the valves were sticky from the motor sitting. common with suby motors

My XT6 did that after it was sitting for 1 year. It was stripted and resealed.
After a good run it all settled down
